I received my BA degree in Political Science and International Relations from Bogazici University in Istanbul in 2011 and my MSc degree in Gender, Media and Culture from London School of Economics in 2013. Between January 2014-March 2016, I worked as a researcher at the Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV) in Istanbul before joining the GRACE Project as PhD candidate in Gender Studies at Utrecht University.

As a GRACE researcher, my  primary focus is on Islamic Feminism; how it could be examined as a site through which new, changing and contested cultural ideas and products are generated and how they could be understood as part of the equality discourses in Europe. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions or suggestions related my research at z.cengiz[at]uu.nl
