The seminar “Documentary Cinema and Visualisation of Gender In/equalities” is a cycle of film screenings held at the University of Granada during October 2018. ESR 13 Orianna Calderon will present a selection of contemporary Spanish and Italian documentary films dealing with social inequalities rooted in but not limited to gender, which will be discussed by the filmmakers in debates open to the general public.
The five screenings will be accompanied by a theoretical workshop, in which Calderon will present diverse concepts and ideas from feminist film theory and documentary cinema, so as to start a group discussion based on different case studies. This activity will be attended by graduate students, including those from the Erasmus Mundus Master´s Degree in Women’s and Gender Studies in Europe (GEMMA) based at the University of Granada.
