The GRACE research team associated with the PhD in Gender and Diversity at the University of Oviedo is delighted to invite you to participate in the research seminar Urban Performances. Critical Perspectives on Feminism and Slam Poetry that will take place on March 16, 2018 at the Sala de Juntas del Departamento de Filología Inglesa, Francesa y Alemana (ground floor, Departmental Building, Humanities Campus).
The special guest for this seminar is Sara Hirsch, poet, artist and spoken word educator who, as part of the programme, will deliver a free workshop in English on spoken word poetry starting at 16.00h.

SARA HIRSCH is a young poet and spoken word educator from London, UK. She is a former UK Slam Champion, third-ranked in the World Slam Championships 2014, winner of the European Poetry Slam in Madrid 2016 and a 2017 BBC Slam Finalist. Hirsch has performed at Glastonbury, is a TEDx speaker, has been featured on the BBC and has toured extensively both in the UK & internationally. She holds an MA in Creative Writing & Education (Distinction) and is a graduate of the Spoken Word Education Programme (Goldsmiths University). She is the author of Still Falling (2016) and Louder than Words (2017).
