The GRACE researchers are involved in producing a series of public events aimed at disseminating their research findings to the wider public, including both academic and non-academic audiences. These public events have taken various forms and have created dynamic opportunities for public engagement with the GRACE project’s research.
Event # 1 – Equality EVENTually @ Orlando
A discussion on cinema, social media, and alternative pedagogies with our researchers.
Event # 2 – Urban Performances @ Oviedo
Critical Perspectives on Feminism and Slam Poetry. A research seminar and feminist spoken word workshop with special guest Sara Hirsch.
Event #3 – Moving Moments @ Hull
Dance your experiences and memories of 365 days of culture in Hull.
Event #4 – Cyborgs @ Granada
A talk on bodies, technologies, and gender followed by ‘Seismic Percussion’: a performance by Moon Ribas, Catalan avant-garde artist and cyborg activist.
Event #5 – (Media)ted @Hull
Presentation of collaborative artwork in reflection of the cultures of equality produced during Hull’s celebrations of UK City of Culture in 2017.
Event #6 – MORE – Cultures of Equality @Hull
The final intervention of the event series ‘The Conversation Continues’ is an open space forum with citizens, practitioners, artists and academics.
Event #7 – Documentary Cinema @ Granada
Movie screenings and debates with filmmakers Alina Marazzi, Simone Cangelosi, Isabel de Ocampo, Antonio Centeno, Leonor Jimenez, Montserrat Clos and Carolina Suarez
